play therapy
play therapy is the most developmentally appropriate approach in working with youth. There are many different modalities that a therapist chooses based on personal preferences and their client’s specific treatment goals.
What is play and why we do it.
What is play, exactly, and why do we do it? All children engage in play naturally and spontaneously. It is important for us as adults to allow this to happen without excessive oversight or attempts to make play functional or productive within daily tasks. Go and play on your own and experience the benefits for yourself. This can help you better understand play and allow your children to do the same.
