Wild Desert Therapy

The wilderness in each of our lives can be terrifying at first, but with support and tools we can learn how to navigate this wilderness, accept the uncertainty, and find joy and connection with ourselves and others.

Even in challenging environments, living things adapt, grow, and find ways to thrive. I believe humans are capable of this same kind of resilience—and often show even greater capacity for growth when they are given safety, understanding, and the right support.

My work is child-centered. I aim to be fully present with each child, paying close attention to both their words and their nonverbal cues. I work to understand their experiences from their perspective, and to respond with empathy, warmth, and genuine care. I believe children do best when they feel heard, understood, and valued for who they are—not just for their behavior.

In the physical space of my lobby and office, I reflect these same values by creating an environment that feels welcoming, comfortable, and engaging for children and their families—one where kids can feel safe being themselves and families can feel supported.

Amy Lambert

Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW)

I work with each child, teen, and family as a unique individual, paying close attention to what they need so I can choose the mix of approaches that will help them most. I use play therapy and Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) as the foundation of my work, and I also draw on Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and other strategies I've found helpful to meet each child where they are.

I provide support for kids and teens navigating obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), anxiety, body-focused repetitive behaviors (like hair pulling or skin picking), tics/Tourette syndrome, ADHD, and autism. My goal is to create a space where children feel safe, heard, and understood—somewhere they can be themselves, explore their feelings, and build the skills to thrive in their everyday lives.
