Among the
many forms of anxiety sleep anxiety is one of the hardest
to treat. This problem covers many areas of human physical and mental
behaviors but can be made worse by other forms of the problem.
Excessive
stress, poor health, obsessive thinking, and other detrimental health
problems all contribute to the issue. Finding a treatment is hard
because
it can masquerade itself so well as another problem or issue.

Typically sleep anxiety can be commonly misdiagnosed as insomnia. While it may seem like the two are the same insomnia is different from anxiety. Anxiety as its name implies is feeling of intense anxiousness either over a long period of time or in a heightened anxiety attack. It can be over a very real and legitimate problem or over the smallest of things that has no bearing on a person's life.
Then
again the problem may be caused by being anxious about sleep itself. Among
some adults and many children there is a period in life where they may
be anxious about falling asleep.

After all unless your night is filled with
dreams one merely blacks out and when they awaken it's 8 hours later. This
can be frightening to some as the idea of lost time can be unsettling.
However
this form of sleep anxiety is usually outgrown or passes as soon
as
the person suffering from it comes to terms with the fact that there is
nothing
to be afraid of. Unfortunately other forms of panic, anxiety, and
depression
are harder to deal with and don't pass as easily. As mentioned
preexisting
conditions in these categories can cause new problems to manifest
and
make already existing ones worse.
Sleep
anxiety that deals with constant anxiety preventing you from sleeping
is
one such instance. You may be kept up at night constantly tossing and
turning
worrying
about little or big things. Sometimes you may be kept up by a constant
feeling
of panic and other times your mind simply will not shut down. In order
to
sleep the mind has to shut down its conscious area and allow the
subconscious
to
take hold while the body goes through its natural cycle of restoration.
When
this is interrupted by anxiety the conscious mind refuses to shut down
quietly
and this makes sleeping very hard. In addition people may awaken in
the
middle of the night or wake up too early. Dealing with the problem is
the
only way to solve it and there are a few tips and solutions. If you are
suffering
this anxiety from a physical wound then when it heals the anxiety
should
go away.
If
the anxiety is caused by a chemical imbalance you will need drug or
chemical
treatments
to get things working properly. If however your anxiety is being
caused
by mental stress or emotional strain then you will need to go a
different
route.
Prayer, meditation, exercise, and personal examination are all that can
be
prescribed
to take care of emotional or mental anxiety not related to physical
damage.
Sleep
anxiety has many forms but it is never as simple as insomnia. If
natural
treatments
do not work talk to your doctor and see if they can help you identify
the
cause of the problem. Reducing stress, relieving tension, and resolving
conflict
in
your home life are always good places to start when diagnosing the
problem.
Remember
to be honest with your doctor and they will do their best to help you.To learn more about a cure for
